So i searched the forum and found a thread with someone experiencing the same problem, but i didn't find anything i could do to fix my own problem.

I'm experiencing extremely low frame rates on FFXII, around 20-30. and a sound glitch that i'm guessing is coming from the lag. i think my system should be powerful enough to handle it so, it has to be my settings i guess.

i have

Vista
Intel Duo 2.40GHz
3GB RAM
Geforce 8600M GS

PCSX2 settings.

no, that 8400M GS is the bottleneck, had the same issue. try lowering the resolution some. won't look pretty, but it'll play fine

edit: check native first see the rate there

It's a 8600 But still the same issue? or?..

If so what reso do you recommend?

and as always, update to the latest beta revision of pcsx2 and plugins from this forum first and make an iso of your game disc and run it with linuziso as your cdvd plugin.

So i've tried Native, the resolution put up the frame rate quite a bit, but it's going down to 20-30 again in battles.. any other frame rate tricks? and i've also updated my plug ins etc

lower your resolution below native (edit the ini) I found 384x384 to be best on my 8400GS (512-128)

what's with the speed hacks? especially the vu cycle stealing should help quite a bit.

use new plugins and new beta + speedhacks

Have the same problem. Framerate mostly at 50%.....

My System:
Athlon 64 3500+
1GB RAM
Radeon 2600XT (512MB)
WinXP

is my system not good enough??? I`ve updated my emu on newest version, plugins too.
