So I'm new to forums and emulators alike, so bear with me. I apologize for any naivity.
Now, I downloaded the files, and folled the config guide. When I run pcsx2.exe, it comes up with this error:
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
So, is there anything I can do?
pc specs ? plugins config ?
yeah, and why don't you tell us what version of windows you're running or is that a secret?

Are you sure you didn't accidentally download the Linux binary?
Is your Vista the 64bit version?
Official build including beta and members build using Visual Studio are intact 32-bit versions. I can run PCSX2 on XP 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit.
Maybe someone compiled 64-bit PCSX2 and he just downloaded, attempt to run on his 32-bit Windows.
OK, so I have it installed and I went through the configuration guide and have everything all well and done. I don't know what happened, I just removed some programs and reinstalled it and it worked.....The only thing I need now is a good key configuration since I'm using a keyboard and mouse. I don't plan on playing FPS games, more RPGs, but I wanted to ask if there was a common configuration used or not.
Unlike ePSXe has a universal configuration for all games, PCSX2 has particular optimal configuration with specific game.

Depends of what rpg you want to play, some works a lot better than others.
For example in my PC that is similar to yours FFX works fine, but games like Wild Arms series got different issues.
pcsx2fan is right, epsxe using peteopengl2 and the internal sound plugin most of the games works perfect in epsxe170.
