The current one (r1479) ain't the greatest, so I was wondering if there was a middle ground somewhere between the current beta and the current 'stable' (i.e. an older beta version!).

Great!! I tried them all, and 1357 is the last revision that works with GMA. 1360 didn't load, and all over that produce no output.
