So I guess playing Iso on my pc hard disk out of the question. Dang! RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - Aemony - 07-08-2009 09:52 AM You might be able to circumvent the redundancy check error message, but if you can't then you will most likely get the same error message in all burner applications you try with. http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/cyclic-redundancy.html Wrote:For CDs and DVDs, the problem is a little different. Normally, when CD/DVD drives get a CRC message from a disc, they try to read the disc again - hence the grinding sound. After several failed attempts, they give up and display the redundancy check error. The problem can be hardware (loose cables, failing drive), software or damaged media. In most cases checking and cleaning the disc is the easiest way to overcome the problem. If different clean discs produce the same error, it is likely to be a hardware issue (check the discs in another drive). Another common cause of these errors is poorly burnt CDs and DVDs - especially those that had numerous or severe buffer underuns. USB burners suffer from this problem when the burn speed is too high (generally above 4X-8X) RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - julietaryu - 07-09-2009 02:17 AM How do I circumvent the redundancy check error, I definitely have no Idea how to do that. And I'll try the cdcheck 3 you mention, hoping for the best. ImgBurn gave me the same message, might give up on playing iso if my disk is busted thou. Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - Shadow Lady - 07-09-2009 03:02 AM Well you could try reading the disc from another computer maybe you'll have more luck there and just copy the iso file. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - julietaryu - 07-10-2009 04:09 AM I already tried it with other computers, and it always have the same outcome. Ive read about a linuz plugin, which let read iso from the hard drive, but don't know where to get it. Can anyone point me to where I could get it. Thanks so much for the reply, its really nice in here. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - bobaka - 07-10-2009 04:11 AM be carefully ISO keyword is prohibited here. That's moderator's paranoia, sorry. RE: Hello everybody!! Linuz Iso plugin comes with the PCSX2 0.9.6 package and you can select it from the CDVD plugin configuration, the problem is if no drive is able to read your disc then there's no much to do sorry :/ Maybe try cleaning the disc or simply play the game from the disc cant think of anything else to do. ISO is perfectly fine we actually encourage people to play their games from an ISO, the problem is when someone is using a ISO illegally RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - Larfin_Man - 07-10-2009 08:49 AM Did you make sure that the disc is clean and not scratched yet? That's the first thing you should do seeing as that's the most common problem, and seeing as you tried it in other computers, it's almost a guarantee that it's not a hardware problem so the disc is probably damaged. One more thing to check, is that the sticker on the front of the disc isn't scratched, because not many people realize it but the data on CDs and DVDs is stored on that sticker or film, whatever it's called... So basically, if the top is scratched, it's impossible to repair the disc. If it does have scratches though, your best bet is to take the disc to your nearest video rental store, or any other place that offers to repair scratches. It may not be free, but is most often incredibly cheap. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - echosierra - 07-10-2009 10:54 AM Cyclic redundancy check errors means it can't read the data, usually because the disk is scratched. This is not an error to be worked around or ignored, it's your CD/DVD drive telling you it can't read the data correctly. Larfin_Man: you're almost correct The data isn't really stored on the top sticker, but a thin metal layer that's sandwiched between the clear undercoating and the graphic art on top. In practice you're completely correct, if there is damage to the top it's basically always impossible to repair.
RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - julietaryu - 07-13-2009 09:54 AM I don't see any linuz plugin thingy on any of the dropdown choices when I try to configure my cdvd. I only see some windows files selection, my dvd drive which is G: by the way and none choice in another dropdown selection. Do I need to reinstall pcsx2 again so I can configure it for the linuz plugin, I only choose what was on top when I first configure my pcsx2 when i installed it. Or should I put none on the cdvd dropdown selection in the cdvd configuration windows, on top it say none and below it is the drive letter of my pc, which i G:. Sorry for not replying fast guys, I don't have a internet connection in my home, have to go to the internet cafe outside to ask you guys for some help. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - Larfin_Man - 07-13-2009 10:41 AM Download the latest plugin pack from here, then you just choose Linuz Iso CDVD from the drop down list in the config menu. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - julietaryu - 07-14-2009 02:21 AM Stupid question, I know, I'm a noob. How do I put the plugins after extracting it, do I just copy and paste, would it be recognize by pcsx2 immediately. And I don't see any linuz plugin in the plugin folder in the pcsx2 dir. I have the pcsx2 ver. 0.9.6. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - Larfin_Man - 07-14-2009 06:39 AM Just cut and paste the extracted plugins into the plugin folder. PCSX2 will automatically detect them if they are in the folder, but you may need to close PCSX2 and re-open it first. I think the plugin file for Linuz is called "CDVDiso" or something like that. Just put the plugins in the folder and Linuz should appear in the config menu. RE: Hello everybody!! Have an ISO query. - julietaryu - 07-15-2009 02:34 AM First of all, I would like to say sorry, I was confuse on following instructions on how to configure pcsx2 in the GUI, but I think I just got it. Being a noob is not an excuse, so, I'm gonna have to say that I was pretty darn stupid. Well, you see, I click the configure tab in the pcsx2 GUI, and the drop down selection appears. I see the graphics, sound, controller, cdvd, etc. selection, I thought that's where you configure the cdvd plugin you want to use. And I thought the configure selection on top of that is just the header for that drop down selection, but when I tried to click it the whole configuration window appeared. I thought you would only see this on the installation of pcsx2, dang, you wouldn't know how stupid I felt. I am so sorry for wasting your time, I definitely appreciate all of those who tried to help!!! Please don't kill me. Can I request to close this thread, I'm so sorry for being, you know.
