Hi all,

This is my first post here, I couldn't find anything about this, so anyway:
I downloaded the latest beta to play FFX, and everything was perfect, but then my system abruptly powered off, as if the power cable was pulled out. It didn't turn back on after that - I knew it was because the power supply was fried, likely due to the demands placed on my processor, despite the fact that I have a pretty decent machine. Anyway, it has been replaced, and my system is running fine again.

What I'm wondering is, has anyone using this had it happen to them before? I'm 99% certain it was because of PCSX2, since nothing of the sort has ever happened before, and I was playing it at the time.
Also, if PCSX2 is the cause, would you say that I shouldn't chance it again? Thanks!

My specs, just in case:

XP SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850, 3Ghz
2gb of DDR2 800 Memory
ATI Radeon HD3650 512mb

I noticed when I press escape to load a different image, the plugins halt, so it's useless.. Is there a way around this? I'm probably just not looking hard enough. :x

I just tried running the first image, then going into the Cdvdrom settings and changing it to the next image, then running -> executing, and the first image is still running. So either that's not how it's supposed to happen or the second image just isn't working properly..?

Hey guys,

I was experiencing some problem today with PCSX2. I tried it out today and it worked well with Final Fantasy X after a while. Got around 35-50 FPS. Then when I got to a specific place where Yuna makes her dance after fighting Sin on the boat, they have a little chat. Then it fades to black when Tidus thinks about it. After that the FPS increases to around 70, and it wont come back. It just leaves there with a black screen.

Also, I got the latest build (I guess) which was PCSX2 0.9.7.2208, and was going to play Final Fantasy on that one, to try it out. I copied over the save states from the previous "sstates" folder to the newest compile. Started the game and loaded stat "0", and I was taken to the beginning of the game. No matter what I did, it would load me to the start of the game with the newest build.

Sorry for long post.

Thanks,

Hi all,

I've done a search and tried some of the solutions I've found, but nothing so far has helped me fix this problem I'm having. While playing FFX-2 the game seems to run at around 40-42fps (80-85%) except for in menu's where it goes at full speed. Also it seems to be slower the more moving parts that are on the screen. Eg while in the ship, when looking out the front window it's slower than when in the hallway.

System Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad QQ6600
nVidia GeForce 8800GT
4GB of RAM
30GB or so of HDD space free
Running Windows 7

I've tried with both the stable release and r1888 of the beta and there doesn't seem to be much noticable difference (maybe SLIGHTlY faster in the beta version)

PCSX2 Setup (Beta version r1888):
Graphics:
GSdx 1873 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.15
Resolution: 1024x768 60 Hz (On a 21" monitor, native res of 1600x900)
Render: Direct3D10 (Hardware) (though I've tried both Direct3D9 and Direct 3D11 and both Hardeware and Software versions of all three)
Interlacing: None
Aspect Ration: 4:3
D3D internal res: 1024 x 768 (Native not ticked)
SW rend. threads: 3 (when using Software modes atleast)
Texture Filtering: Grey-Checked
Allow 8-bit textures: Checked
Wait for V-Sync: Un-checked
All other settings at thier defaults, ie I havent touched them

Linuz ISO CDVD 0.9.0

Sound:
SPU2-x 1.2.0 (I doubt this is noteworthy, but figured I'd mention it incase. I'll post the config if required)

CPU:
Limit:
All Detailed Settings are set to 0

EERec - EE/IOP recompiler: Checked
VU0rec: Checked
VU1rec: Checked
microVU: Both unchecked

Multi Threaded GS mode: Checked

No speed hacks.

With the graphics settings I've played with a large number of different combinations and none seem to make too much of a difference. While the game is probably playable from what I've gathered from reading the forums my set up (in theory) should be able to play the game at full speed. Also the Opening movie goes at about 65% speed. Anyone got any ideas? Let me know if there is any more information I can throw in.

EDIT: Ack knew I forgot something. I tried FFXII and it seemed to run at full speed, atleast the opening did, havent tried going the full way to the game.

Hi all,

I've done a search and tried some of the solutions I've found, but nothing so far has helped me fix this problem I'm having. While playing FFX-2 the game seems to run at around 40-42fps (80-85%) except for in menu's where it goes at full speed. Also it seems to be slower the more moving parts that are on the screen. Eg while in the ship, when looking out the front window it's slower than when in the hallway.

System Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad QQ6600
nVidia GeForce 8800GT
4GB of RAM
30GB or so of HDD space free
Running Windows 7

I've tried with both the stable release and r1888 of the beta and there doesn't seem to be much noticable difference (maybe SLIGHTlY faster in the beta version)

PCSX2 Setup (Beta version r1888):
Graphics:
GSdx 1873 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.15
Resolution: 1024x768 60 Hz (On a 21" monitor, native res of 1600x900)
Render: Direct3D10 (Hardware) (though I've tried both Direct3D9 and Direct 3D11 and both Hardeware and Software versions of all three)
Interlacing: None
Aspect Ration: 4:3
D3D internal res: 1024 x 768 (Native not ticked)
SW rend. threads: 3 (when using Software modes atleast)
Texture Filtering: Grey-Checked
Allow 8-bit textures: Checked
Wait for V-Sync: Un-checked
All other settings at thier defaults, ie I havent touched them

Linuz ISO CDVD 0.9.0

Sound:
SPU2-x 1.2.0 (I doubt this is noteworthy, but figured I'd mention it incase. I'll post the config if required)

CPU:
Limit:
All Detailed Settings are set to 0

EERec - EE/IOP recompiler: Checked
VU0rec: Checked
VU1rec: Checked
microVU: Both unchecked

Multi Threaded GS mode: Checked

No speed hacks.

This isn't a "Will it work on this" question so much as a "Why the heck is my FPS going from 60 down to 24 every few seconds" question >>

Games in question are Suikoden 3 and 5. Mainly during parts in which I don't have control of the characters, and it appears to be at random.
I'll have fine FPS for about 2 seconds and it begins to go down, all the way to the low 30's and once to 24, within ten seconds. Then snaps back up.

Specs:
AMD Athlon X2 7850 2.8GHz Dual Core
EVGA Geforce 8800GTS 320MB
4GB Corsair PC2-8500
Windows Vista Home Premium

Running the GSDX 890 SSE2 plugin. Native resolution, DX10 hardware rendering. Speedhacks don't seem to be helping either. I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

Edit: Just read some other thread >> Going to try a couple things.
