Well, the patch finder is simpler than cheat engine and artmoney. That said, you cannot search for unknown values with it. The patch finder should only be used to find elementary codes like money, ammo, hp, etc (where there is a definite value). Unknown value searches are too advance for the patch finder. Either use cheat engine or go find gameshark/codebreaker codes.
Nappa: Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?
Vegeta: It's...one thousand and six.
Nappa: Wh-...really?
Vegeta: Yeah! Beat him up Nappa!
Nappa: Yay!

Wrong, the patch finder CAN search for uncnown values and it's just as good as ArtMoney when it comes to searching values. The only flaw is that the Patch Finder is slower, can't search "from to values"(range) and doesn't have the different freezing abilities of ArtMoney(can't be higher/low than)

To search for uncknown value just start the Patch Finder, set your prefered search method and for Begin use Equal and for Compared to use Old value(since this is the first time searching, the old value mens all values). The next time when you continue searching use any of the options:

Equal + Old value means nothings changed since the last search
Equal + Specific Value means that you know the value and to search for it
Greater + Old Value means it will search and display all the values that has increased since the last search
Greater + Specific Value means that you know that the value will be higher than the value you type in the search box
Smaller + Old Value means it will search and display all the values that has decreaced since the last search
Smaller + Specific Value means that you know that the value will be lower than the value you type in the search box
Greater or Equal + Old value means it will search and display all the values that has increased or not changed since the last search.
Greater or Equal + Specific Value means it will search and display all the values that are higher than the specific value and those that are equal to the specific value.
Smaller or Equal + Old value means it will search and display all the values that has decreaced or not changed since the last search.
Smaller or Equal + Specific Value means it will search and display all the values that are lower than the specific value and those that are equal to the specific value.
Not Equal + Old Value means that, all the values that aren't changed since the last search will be removed from the search list
Not Equal + Specific value simply means,it will remove all the values that are the same as the value in the search box

Oh, I didn't know that (Because I didn't see the "unknown value" radio button in there so I assume it couldn't search for unknown value). Thanks for that bit of information.
