0.9.6 Ubuntu Linux - Final Fantasy XII
#1
Hi, I just downloaded the 0.9.6 binary version for linux, using it under Ubuntu 8.10.

I tried to play Final Fantasy XII but I always get segmentation fault after bios screen (other games run).
The same configuration in 0.9.4 worked (at least the game started).
In this version I can't even get to title screen.

Can someone confirm the FF XII 0.9.6 under linux is working or not?

Thanks

I don't have linux anymore (latest won't mount on my hard drive), so I can't confirm it one way or another, but what are the settings/plugins you're using?
and what version of ubuntu are you using?

Standard plugins, the ones I got in the linux archive.
Default config out of the box, European bios, just changed for playing an NTSC ISO (and recognized as NTSC).
Both plugins for playing ISO, same result.

Linux Ubuntu 8.10, as I said.

Maybe should I compile 0.9.6 myself?

No problem... I thought you wanted the kernel version

So I tried to compile from SVN... and I got this error....

Code:
make: *** Nessuna regola per creare l'obiettivo «libSoundTouch.a», necessario a «libZeroSPU2.so.0.1.0».  Stop.
Error with building plugins

In english should be something like " No rule to create objective «libSoundTouch.a», needed by «libZeroSPU2.so.0.1.0». Stop."

Am I missing something?

I'm answering myself....

Found this while compiling:
Code:
-----------------
Building SoundTouch
-----------------
configure.ac:4: error: Autoconf version 2.63 or higher is required
configure.ac:4: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 63

configure.ac:4: error: Autoconf version 2.63 or higher is required
configure.ac:4: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 63
automake: autoconf failed with exit status: 63
configure.ac:4: error: Autoconf version 2.63 or higher is required
configure.ac:4: the top level
autom4te: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 63
build.sh: 21: ./configure: not found
make: *** No rule to make target `clean'.  Stop.
make: *** No rule to make target `install'.  Stop.
rm: impossibile rimuovere `libSoundTouch.a': Nessun file o directory
cp: impossibile fare stat di `../../3rdparty/SoundTouch/libSoundTouch.a': Nessun file o directory

Seems I need Autoconf 2.63 ... but in Ubuntu Repository I got only 2.61.... what can I do?

go to the autoconf website and build 2.63?

you could also ask in the ubuntu irc room about it (I'm not that good with linux stuff)

I hoped there was a repo for autoconf... but no... so ok, it was a long way :-)

Finally it compiled.... launched, configured.
Now I select the ISO ... File -> Run Cd
I got a serie of normal reading and then it starts to print out in terminal:

"Pcsx2 Foopah! Frozen regs have not been restored!!!"

WHAT?!? :-)
