So I'm using the 1.4.0 binary and after a while the icon just disappears. Happens on my desktop and laptop, both Windows 10.

^ Did you install PCSX2 to a portable drive, or a drive that otherwise isn't always mounted?

For instance, for me PCSX2 and all my emulators is installed on one of my encrypted drives, which means Windows loads before it mounts, which means Windows can't fetch the icon and will display a white blank one.

Nope, it is on an internal drive for both. SSD on laptop, HDD on desktop. Both under a folder called Emulators.

Install or Repair your VC2015++ runtimes.
