Why don't you let user choose this. Like dolphin. You choose if you want Auto update for : STABLE release, Beta or DEV 
Maybe with the alert "Use at your OWN risk"

Auto - Update is very great feature for who wants this emulator always with lastest features

Our development builds are currently both compiled and hosted by Orphis, who has the courtesy to do this for us free of charge (web hosting ain't cheap). Orphis pays for the hosting with the ad money from the buildbot site (aka, you using that site generates the money needed to keep said site/buildbot alive), so to respect that, we aren't automating that away. If you are really interested in automating updates for yourself, a little powershell is about all you need to download/extract new builds.
