1.7.0 dev builds closing after booting ISO or BIOS

I want to use the newer dev builds for their reduced input lag but all the ones I've tried force close the emulator when booting any ISO or BIOS after freezing for a few seconds. Settings are default, tried experimenting but none seemed to work. Older builds like 1.5.0 and 1.6.0 still work.

Do you mean the emulator pauses for a couple of seconds when booting then it's normal? to be honest I'm surprised the emulator still works on your PC, it's ancient Tongue

When booting an ISO or BIOS the emu freezes at a black screen for a few seconds before it force closes itself. I'm not even sure if it's a crash.

Set your Renderer to Direct 3D (GS settings -> Plugin settings) before boot, or update your video card driver.

tried both but didn't work and I'm already on the latest graphics card driver

1.7.0 requires 2019 VC++

Tried that as well but no dice. Even repaired the installation and restarted.

try :
- D3d11 renderer
- software mode
- updating your gpu drivers
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

i think the CPU is not supported for 1.7.0 neither the core or the gsdx of some sorts.
try the last tricky way....get the gsdx plug-in from 1.6.0 and put it in the plug-in folder of 1.7.0,select that plug-in since your CPU is only SSE2 usable.
if it's not working for you....you need to replace your CPU and mobo while your video card,HDD,ram retains.

his video card drivers is updated same as mine's nvidia driver version.
