Just because it's not a relatively weak card for a laptop graphics card, doesn't change the fact that it's a relatively weak card overall (since all laptop graphics cards are weaker) and therefore you won't be able to run at higher resolutions to use up the extra RAM anyway.

ah~ ok ok. that pretty much sums up what kind of laptop i need than haha. than i should actually go for a P8600 processor instead of a T6600? the graphic card is both 256mb for the ATi

Did you change the GPU? Or is it a typo between 4570 and 4750? Because if it's the 4750, then I would definitely get that over the 8600GT. Obviously the best of those would be the P8600 with the 4750 (if it is indeed a 4750).

Ok. back to the graphics question
this is the graphic card that I found for one of the laptops:
NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT 256MB Dedicated DDR3 graphics memory
will this out-perform
the ATI radeon mobility 4750 256mb?

...if it's shared memory, you won't get any advantages even if you have 1GB of it, because it uses System memory, aka RAM, ...if you get graphic card with it's own memory, even the one with 128MB is much better then one with 1GB shared...

Cheers...
AMD FX-8350
4x 4GB DDR3 2400MHz
AMD Radeon R9 Fury X

icic so it seems like the processor needs to be considered first before the graphics. thx
