30 fps in games with 1080p hardware
#1
I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and now my games run about half speed on hardware mode. I can't seem to figure out the cause.

I've re installed my video drivers and nothing improved.

Specs:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

Software mode runs at full speed, hardware mode runs at half speed and struggles at 1080p

The game in question is Bully, which before Windows 8.1 I could run at full speed without speed hacks and at 1440p

Do I have to re-image again?

Check which adapter is selected in the GSdx configuration, you should select the gtx 760

Thanks for getting back to me, unfortunately that did not resolve the issue.

So I went ahead and did a refresh within windows 8 and it now works.

I guess I put a little too much faith into Microsoft "Update" option on the Windows 8 disc. From now on I will always do clean installs.

"overwriting" (thats what the updateoption basicly does) was and will never be good for your windowsinstallation ^^
