8Bitdo SF30 Pro L2, R2 not working
#1
Hello,

I am new here and I have not found similiar topic, so I've got a problem with my 8Bitdo controller. I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 and 1.7.0 git version of PCSX2 and I can't map controller's buttons within Gamepad configuration menu - pressed buttons are not recognised. The PCSX2 recognises only keyboard inputs. Anyway, controller is working in-game, but L2 and R2 buttons don't work and I can not configure them. This problem is also with PPSSPP (L2, R2 btns don't work).
I spent couple of days solving this without any progress. Current options for gamepad configuration are not sufficient in this version, in my opinion. I can see only one solution that is to downgrade PCSX2 (I was using it in circa January-February 2021 without any problem - which version of PCSX2 was the latest that days?). Problem is that I've installed PCSX2 via RetroPie Setup script and do not know how to install older versions of PCSX2.

I would appreciate any help or direction how to solve this. L2 and R2 buttons are working in any other simulators except PPSSPP and PCSX2 I even test them within python script, so it show me pressed button's codes and they're working here, too.

EDIT: Solved by installing older version (1.5.0)

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

It's currently not possible anymore on Linux to map custom bindings for controllers, see here: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/4414
However, if the default configuration for your controller has issues, you might report that on GitHub, so it can be corrected.
Tired of always changing your PCSX2 Configuration for different games?

Ok, that is clear now. Thank you for your answer.
