A Question About PS2 Multitap-Adaptors And Memory Cards
#1
While testing this old ps2-multitap with pcsx2 through the usb controller-adaptor, Its very clear by looking at it that a ps2 memory-card can still be plugged into the adaptor. But when going to the emulation memory-card area.. No such plugged-in memory-card seems to be recognized by pcsx2. . . God you have to say that word alot to specify things about it. ..

Point and question is, Is there an add-on program or some checkbox-feature that lets the program see the plugged-in memory card?

Because id honestly much prefer saving data onto one of those ps2-cards than emulation-saves, If there was only one choice for instance. And its confusing to someone moderately-versed in these technologies when seeing that a controller plugged into the multitap (And presumably three other controllers attached all at once) works.. But a memory-card stays unusuable, Plugged into its slot.

just thought id ask now that everything is set up right again. : .

PCSX2 cannot interface with real memory cards. It is unclear if this will ever be possible; with emulated memory cards we fully bypass MagicGate by neither encrypting or decrypting the data. Using a real memory card over an adapter potentially means implementing MagicGate, and due to a number of legal uncertainties around decryption and keys, the team does not want to go anywhere near that at this time.

The reason your controller works is not because PCSX2 is reading it as a PS2 controller natively, it works because the adapter passes your PS2 controller in as a generic input device. PCSX2 then detects that input device from your OS, and maps its controls on to an emulated PS2 controller.

........ Oh well. But some features cant be emulated due to real memory cards not working. Like with the playstation pocket. ..

Sure they can. If you mean Playstation Pocket as in the Pocketstation peripheral for PS1, those are documented and we can emulate those according to whatever PS1 spec sheets like the no$psx documents say.

; .  .. Interesting.

Is there a download for that?

If you mean PCSX2, it's just in the normal stables and development cycles. You can see a visual cue if you make a PS1 memcard.

Not really, we could emulate them, we just do not yet (memory cards, especially PS1 are in a weird shadowy place on the PS2). If you just mean the documentation on how Pocketstation works, well the entire PS1 spec is documented here including a section on Pocketstation: http://problemkaputt.de/psx-spx.htm

Oh good. . How do you create an emulated ps1 card. ? : o

Memcard window and Create, with the options for the different sizes and folder memcard.
