Hi Guys,
I've searching through here quite a bit today after reading about AVX in the configuration guide. I'm currently running r5889 on a core i7 860 @2.8GHz. As far as I can tell AVX should be supported on this chip, but the plugin won't show up in the settings, can you help?
Thanks,
Max

It is not solving your question but:
If you are using the hardware mode of gsdx there is no difference between sse4.1 and avx. Only by using the software-mode one can gain some benefits from avx.

AVX is only supported by the 2000 series i processors and up. The 860 does not im afraid. The best plugin you can use is the sse41 plugin.

ah what a shame! I wanted to switch across to software rendering to avoid the glitches in some games and maximise performance with that plugin. Guess I'll have to make do with hardware. Thanks for your help.

It wont make "that" much difference. Just use the SSE4 plugin and set the Extra Render Threads to 3 in the config, that will make it fast as possible.
