Ace combat graphical bug

I've been having some issues with Ace Combat Zero relating the graphical bugs. Every time there are explosions, smoke or afterburners I get these weird squares around them as seen in the image I posted below. If there's any way of fixing it, I'd be thankful since it gets quite annoying in fights with big explosions like the final duel with Pixy.

I've tried to lower it but it didn't make a difference. Is the issue maybe connected to something else?
