Been trying to play Star Ocean 3 on my laptop, have gotten the game to play but barely hit 25FPS and the audio barely plays at all. Ive searched the forums quite a bit and tried every suggestion available. Was wondering if my computer specs are the problem(tried about every plugin configuration I could think of)
Toshiba Satellite A355D
• AMD Turion™ X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-80
o 2.1 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, HyperTransport™ 3: up to 3.6(GT/sec)
• AMD M780V chipset
• 4GB PC6400 DDR2 SDRAM
• 16.0” widescreen TruBrite® TFT LCD display at 1366x768 native resolution
o Native support for 720p content Graphics8
• ATI Radeon™ HD 3470 Hybrid X2 with 256MB DDR discrete graphics
memory, plus up to 1791MB dynamically allocated shared graphics
memory using ATI Hybrid CrossFireX™ technology.
o Total Available Graphics Memory 2047MB

My most stable plugin configuration were:
-GSdx 890(MSVC 15.00, SEE2) 0.1.14
Windowed
Direct3D 10 (Hardware)
Bob bff
Stretch
Native
Texture filtering

-SPU2-X 1.1.0
Nearest(none/fast)
Disable effects Processing (Checked)
XAudio 2
Latenct 81ms)AVG)

-CPU
Frame Skip

-Game Fixes
(tri-ace game fix enable)

-Speed Hacks
X1.5 Cycle Rate
(Enabled)
INTC Sync Hack
IOPx2
Wiat cycle Snyc Hack

-Advanced Options
Round mode
chop/zero

Clamp Mode
None

Flush to zero (enabled)
Denormals are zero (enabled)

The only think I can think of is my hardware not up to speed(the games playable but dirt slow, to the point where fmv just wont play) Sad

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking your time to read this. Smile

Try an older version of GSdx found here: http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-3031.html Like 0.1.7
But don't expect great speeds with a laptop like that, especially in this game since it has pretty high requirements

No chance -- SO3 is slow even on 3HHz dual core (well, ), and Turion's is 1.5 times slower. This game require something like 4HHz proc.
