Another FFX thread.

So yeah despite looking through what seems a thousand threads about settings for FFX on 0.9.8 I cannot seem to get it running smoothly.

Now, when I say smoothly, I mean i can't get it running smoothly all the time. Sometimes there are parts where it is running at a good 50 fps (PAL), but most of the time its like 30 fps.

Here are my pc's specs:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13ghz (4 CPUs), ~2.1ghz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series
-Memory: 2737 MB

I am running 64 bit Windows 7 Professional.

Plugin settings: Direct3D11 (Hardware), Blend tff, Native resolution, Disallow 8-bit textures.
Speedhacks: EE Cyclerate = 3

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Ohmy FFX Runs quite fast on these pc specs.

FFX Wrote:Intel E2200 @ 2.2ghz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHz
Nvidia 8600GT 512

I guess it is a laptop/netbook as the cpu/gpu are mobile type. mobile type cpu and gpu are slow. Try lowering the EE Cycle rate. many a times it may cause false fps and slowdowns instead of speedups. Tongue2

Change the power plan to high Performance. Maybe that helps. Smile

As Tallbender said,

Make sure as the CPU doesn't get heated up much. What are the EE/GS% when you get the slowdowns.

Well doing that did bring it up quite a bit actually cheers. As for the post above while playing the game its at 80'C. I'm rather noob with PC temps so is that bad/good?

80C is not that good. I mean it is a bit high and is on it extreme end. Excl

EE: 90-100%, GS: 20-35% it fluctuates a lot.

EE is higher. I guess CPU is your slowdown. Tongue2 Did you try the other reccomended speedhacks. Smile

your cpu is struggling, then.
try latest svn with mtvu hack since you have more than 2 cores
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
