Another of those "Black screen but I can hear stuff" threads...
#1
Hey, I've been fiddling around with PCSX2 the past little while try to get it to run, but all I can manage to get is a black screen with audio in the background. I scoured the forums a bit reading similar posts and tried some solutions suggested from those threads. More often than not it seemed like directx was the culprit. But before I go into detail, here's the necessary information you guys might need:

So, I have only been able to achieve the black screen with audio result by running the GPU plugin in only the DX9 modes. When I try to use the DX11 the emulator just crashes, this applies to both hardware, software, full and fast. Therefore, I cannot get a copy of the console because of the crash. I've tried SSE2, SSE41 and SSSE3 with similar results.

So I went ahead and decided to try and update Directx. Regardless of what I do, the installation fails every time. I get this message:

Quote:An internal system error occurred.
Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem.

Then It'll say installation failed. So I tried redownloading the run dxwebsetup file again from the Microsoft website and the same thing happened (I always run as administrator before someone asks). I can post the logs if anyone wants, but the jist I get from them is that

1) It tries to overwrite a file and access is denied
2) The files are already installed and it doesn't deem it necessary to replace them

So, has anyone encountered this type of situation before, and if so what was your solution? And what type of solutions should I try short of reformatting or reinstalling Windows?

right-click the DX updater and run as admin

I've also tried installing via redistribution and still no luck

try reinistalling directx11 again then select directx11 hardware in the graphics plug in. hopefully pcsx2 won't crash

also look at the windows updates that are available. there may be something there that helps u. do a windows update then try putting directx

try completely removing the directx before putting it back
