I'm trying to understand how to replace textures in PS2 but it can be confusing sometimes.
It is useful not only for increasing quality, it can also be used in Japanese games to translate small things in the user interface.
Check the attached images from the game Venus & Braves.
The problem here is the files inside the folder "dumps". It has duplicated assets or some of them are the same image but completely broken.
It is hard to guess which one is the right one and even some images are missing.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Do you know any information that can help me? Any tricks?
