Any reason to use ZeroGS on Windows? ...and what's the best SPU plugin?

So it's okay to have around, not like it takes up much room... though ZZ would be preferable if you absolutely must have an OpenGL plugin.

Example, Linux or Macintosh computers.

As per the title...

It could be inferred that I was referring to inside a windows based environment.

Pretty much yeah, they're also the default plugins anyway Tongue2

OK, so I'm trying out God of War and using PCSX r1888 with GSdx and SPU2-X latest SVN (as of about five minutes ago).

GSdx is using DX10 w/SSE4.

Resolution: 1680x1050
D3D internal res: 1024x1024 (w/2x scaling selected)

All other options in PCSX2 (and plugins) are default.

I'm getting about 40-50 fps. Is this normal?

Here's my system specs:

Intel C2D E8400 @ 4.0 GHz
8 GB RAM (DDR2)
nVidia GTX 285
Windows 7 x64

I thought I saw people running this game at 1920x1080 (eg. 1080p) native resolution and getting a solid 60 FPS?!

2x scaling overides internal resolution settings, just so you know. You could set it to 4096x4096, but it won't matter if any scaling option is on as it will just use a multiple of the game's built in res (I think GoW games are 512x448 so 2x scale would put it at 1024x896)

It really depends on your settings... If you can't get 60fps without speed hacks, use a few... just know that some could have bad side effects. Also it depends on your source for where you heard it was going 60fps at that screen size. If you saw it on youtube, or any other video, toss that idea from your mind as most videos are captured at reduced speeds with GSDx, which automatically speeds the video up to full speed when you play it back.

ZeroFrog is working on Dolphin project, so ZeroGS is stalled.

Your CPU is crap. It's a tad better than mine, but it is still crap.
Some games you will get 60FPS stable ( like FFX for like 85% of the game ), but your CPU is still crap for most games, even at 4GHz.
Then again, play around with the hacks, helps me a lot on a couple of games ( like Rumble Roses, but it's still bloody slow )
CPU : Intel i7-2600K
GPU : nVidia Geforce GTX 970
OS : Windows 8.1 x64
RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengance DDR3
PCSX2 : Constantly changing.
