Anyone notice PCSX2 1.7.0 sound is quieter?

I haven't done anything to maintain mine and it still works just fine.  I just make sure to keep it clean  It's frequently suggested to try out a game on the actual PS2 hardware and compare it to the emulator.  So obviously a lot of people still have a usable PS2.  Scenerix, do you have a PS2 console?

Yeah. I have multiple from when I actually used them over a decade ago.

I just want to post and a say that the volume is indeed quiet at max. Please allow me to boost volume or have the volume slider go to 200%. For now I just use an older build. I never got distortion with the old build, but the volume was more powerful and allowed me to adjust the volume to a proper value. It's just too soft right now.
