For those builds I really couldn't tell as they have considerably larger problems with this game that kept me from testing it. Tiles flickering in and out of existence, tiles being replace with completely random other tiles, text flipping out and disappearing, and giant blocks all over the screen.

I honestly couldn't tell where I could and couldn't walk

Oh, I think you hit the AMD driver bug that was later worked around.

If you could test with widescreen patches enabled:
- latest or other graphically working build + pcsx2.exe from 709 (just replace the one file)
- latest or other graphically working build + pcsx2.exe from 710

Enable accurate blending to the max, it will workaround the amd issue.

Blending Unit Accuracy Ultra + Widescreen patches enabled
710 - Same problem
709 - Same problem

Seems it wasn't your change that caused the issue.
