[BUG REPORT] klonoa 2 haunted house crash

Description:
while playing Klonoa 2 (if you never heard of Klonoa, it's obscure. I don't blame you.) I eventually got to the haunted house. I enter... and PCSX2 crashes.
I'm wondering if there is a workaround for this problem

I've included a screencap of the area before it crashes.

PCSX2 version: 1.4.0
Processsor: Intel core i5-6500 @ 3.20GHz 3.19GHz
System type: 64bit OS x64-based processor
GPU: ?
