Version: PCSX2 1.2.1
4GB Patch: Installed

Can confirm that it works, however experiencing some slowdowns in certain areas where the fps randomly drops down to 15 - 25 before jumping back up to 60fps. What causes this apears to be the flames effects in the game, wherever you find torches, fireplaces.

This seems to run far too slow to really be playable to me.

It runs at 60 fps in the menu, but the flame loading screen drops it to 15 and it runs the entire opening cut scene and proceeding dialogue where you select what to say at 15 as well. I gave up before I could get through it.

The game runs between 40-70fps for me, you just need a decent machine and configure software mode render threads correctly.

I'm getting heavy FPS lag with this game using every DirectX setting: DirectX9 Hardware, DirectX9 Software, DirectX11 Hardware, and DirectX11 Software on GSdx. I have an AMD FX 8350 running at stock 4.0Ghz speed. I've tried 7 extra rendering threads and 3, and don't get noticeably better performance at either setting. My installation of PCSX2 has also had the 4GB patch applied to it.

I have 32GB RAM, a GTX 670 FTW+ with 4GB of VRAM, and PCSX2 is installed on a VelociRaptor drive. It looks like the emulator has particular difficulty with the fire effect of the game - the game runs fine at around 60fps when it's not trying to render that effect, but it's unplayable (10-20 FPS) when there are a lot of torches. I also notice a heavy FPS drop at the loading screen, which features a lot of that fire.

I would not consider this game playable right now as so many levels feature torches/campfires/fireplaces

FX 8350 probably won't cut it for this game. Baldur's gate is quite literally in the top 5 most demanding PCSX2 games I know of and FX series single threaded performance is heavily lacking. Even high end Intel chips have trouble with it.

Information
NTSC / US version has a common interlace problem:

When the camera is being moved, interlacing-blur is clearly noticable regardless of what interlacing setting is being used in GSdx options...

Setting interlace to "none" will result in smoother screen movement, but texts/menus will flicker...
This can be mitigated by a non-interlace patch/cheat (see https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-No-interlacing-codes)

Unfortunately this will squash most of the text and makes it barely readable (see screenshot).
This, in turn, can be (slightly) mitigated by setting Texture Filtering to "Bilinear (forced)".

PCSX2 1.6.0 & nigthly 1.7.0

Test system:
Win 10 64 bit
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Radeon 5700X
