Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance Fixes

hey guys,

i use this setting: https://gist.github.com/erfg12/00a6ec08e...5a22f7c6c0
Speed-hacks is on 60% CPU-Speed .
When game is running CPU-Speed is on 100-106 %, but after randomly time the going on 50% again.
After i go back in the main manue and load the saved Game the  CPU is runing on 100-106%.
I think that anything crashes in the speed hacks, because in the time when runing agian on 50%, i can change speedhacks no matter how, result no changing on running game.
No errors in the log file.

Is it posible that the speed hacks desable onself or by pcsx2?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

since this game is particularly demanding and you pc is knida weak for pcsx2, no suprises.
no speedhack will help in that case.
that said, try ticking fast invalidation hack in gsdx settings. that could help

Hello,

@parlament,

just an few day's ago, i gave pscx2 another shot (after many years). And i must say, pcsx2 has improved ALLOT .. Especialy the 3x Upscale graphics method is just Breath Taking B E autifull Smile.

Many games i have tested play so nice → 100% emulation "no slowdowns" except for this game Baldurs Gate °_° !

So , i began to play with the settings. And the following does wonders for me.

First change the renderer.

I found out that Hardware OpenGL performs much better → faster than HW Direct 3D11 for some reason !!

Change that... AND you'll need upscale hacks too if you want to upscale resolution to 2x, 3x or higher ! Else you get much gpu glitches ingame !!


In GDSx window you keep pretty much everything at default .
Ill sum up only the changes i have made.

Renderer: HW OpenGL → xx% faster
8 bit textures = V , Large FrameBuffer = V (Both improved emu speed to 100+% in BG, other games it doesnt matter what settings all runs at 100% anyway)


For Hardware Hacks:

Fast Texture Invalidation = V


Upscaling hacks:

Alighn Sprite = V
Half Pixel Offset = Special (texture)
Round Sprite = Half

Ofcourse, you may be limited by your gpu !!

My comp Specs are:

GPU: is an RX6600

Awesom to play my fav ps2 games ONCE again with awesome upscaled graphics ^^
