Bandicam vs FRAPS for PCSX2

I'll definitely give Bandicam a try, and will even test BT3 as well. (Got a better GFX card than I had back then too).

Make sure when you set up Bandicam to set it up to use AMD APP if you have AMD or Nvidia NVENC if you have Nvidia. Otherwise it will use the CPU too. If you need any help feel free to ask.

It's so much more configurable (and free)

It even support quicksync out-of-box and you can use this for AMD VCE engine
A vfw codec may exist for nvidia cards, but I couldn't find it

I didn't know it had a plugin for AMD VCE. That's awesome. That makes it an equally good choice now IMO.

Raptr still doesn't support PCSX2.

I'm a registered Bandicam user. Free Bandicam has some function restrictions. What I can remember about them are:
1. Bandicam logo is always shown and recorded.
2. The maximum recording time is 10 mins.

That's correct. Blyss has mentioned those when he and I were having discussions on recording PCSX2 gameplay a month or two ago.

Yeah, free Bandicam does have those restrictions. If you are gonna do a lot of recording, I think it's worth the cost to unlock it.

I've tried out Bandicam, and all I can say is: WOW.

Star Ocean was running at an Internal Res of 2560x1440, Bandicam was set to output a file at 1080p, (H264 AMD APP, 10Mbps CBR, 320Kbps Bitrate audio).

It was nonstop 60 FPS, not a single slowdown. With Fraps that would definitely nosedive straight to 20-30 FPS at that kind of resolution. I'm impressed. And this will allow me to make some awesome videos for the video topic of PCSX2 now.

In no way is this relevant to the thread.

^Taken with Bandicam. Shows some random gameplay, and I was also testing out my jokered version of the "Enemies can't move on Map" cheat (around the 3:30 mark).

Personally I like this way more than Fraps. It seems less straining on the comp too.

Told ya. Tongue Bandicam rocks. The custom GPU solutions(shadowplay/raptr) have even less performance hit. But they don't support a lot of things, including PCSX2(shadowplay does in desktop record mode, at least).
