Wink
i have just got dot hack GU working (finally) and all i can say is, its a beaut.
the new pcsx2 works perfectly (and im running on a pretty bad processor with other things clogging my system up)

looking forward to future releases

Ah, what's your specifications? At least your processor that is.
If it's anything besides Pentium 4, it's not crap. xD
CPU: Pentium D 'Presler' 915 2.8 ghz 2x2MB L2 @ 3.5 ghz
GPU: eVGA [Nvidia] 8600GT 256MB SSC DDR3
Tested: FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, MGS3, KH, KH2, The Hobbit NTSC
PCSX2 FTW! Biggrin

well its not that bad, its an athlon but its an older laptop model and it isnt as smooth as say a core2duo thats rated the same.
the laptops worth about $900AUD now, but for what i got out of it, i am very impressed.

I see, I'm using this Intel 541 Pentium 4 with hyperthreading, altogether at 4.25 ghz it's the speed of a Core 2 solo @ 3 ghz... Slow huh? Well no biggy, at least I got Final Fantasy X running at a reasonably playable speed (30-50 FPS in rendering, 50-80 in execution).

how did you achieve that?
i have only got the above game working at 9-30FPS

The latest beta 0.9.7 r3113 and speedhacks to make it run a lot faster.
I'm using GSDX 0.1.9 SSE2 and SPU2-X 1.4.0 with Async mix (timestretching is annoying if your framerate dips and rises)

If you have the NTSC version of the game that also helps too. Your processor should be faster than mine, so this does intrigue me quite a bit.

I've got rounding set to nearest, clamping set to none and I'm using either microVU or superVU recompilers. Make sure to use wait loop hack, and mVU flag hack.

I'm also using Emotion Engine cyclerate 3 (-50%) and VU cycle stealing 2 or 3 (moderate or maximum).

My floating point performance is about 6.2-6.375 gigaflops at peak, and floating point performance in CPUs is everything when it comes to emulating the N64, the Pentium 4 is THE weakest processor in floating point performance to frequency ratio. The only thing it had over the processors of the past is it could reach high clockspeeds to compensate, at the cost of a lot of heat and wattage.

Wait... ah! Laptop, ding! That's what it is... what GPU do you have? It's probably some integrated Nvidia card, if so then you should use native or 512x384/640x480 resolution and your graphics processing unit won't bottleneck your CPU so you should get better framerate too.

It you get it running past 30 FPS without speedhacks, I'm jealous Tongue

MGS3 runs 30 FPS with speedhacks, and 15-25 without, but it runs too slowly to be able to actually play it. Anything below 20% of the original speed (48 FPS out of 59.94) is too slow to be called playable.

thats not a problem, the card is a Radeon HD 4570 with 512 vram which goes up to about 2300mb when stealing system ram.

edit. most of those were from lower speed hacks. i have been messing around with it and have achieved between 15-150FPS, yes 150, at some points the limiter tells me to take a flying leap, at more graphic intensive moments (many in this game, eg motion blur which it is drawing about 5 copys of the game to the screen) it gets really crappily unplayable

but there-in lies the issue. How much ram does you PC have? PCSX2 for me can take up to a good 600mb depending on the game of course. if you run low on ram your PC will falter
