AMD FX 8120 is a bulldozer based processor, and those aren't ideal for pcsx2(weak, WEAK single core performance).

Use MTVU unless your game is on this list.
Make sure you install these hotfixes:

Max Payne was almost entirely broken when I tried to play it. Kingdom Hearts does well enough but has a few moments of low FPS. Jak and Daxter generally just has low FPS at all times.

All I've got is AMD Radeon HD 7770 Gigabyte

which version of pcsx do you use?
which plugins do you use?

it would be best to get the emu-log.txt after you started the games since all necessary informations are written there.

I'm pretty sure the hotfixes are NOT available on Windows update. Those links I gave are direct links to the two that are needed.

Jak and Daxter is very demanding.

Your GPU shouldn't hold you back at native or 2x resolution. I am pretty sure it's the CPU. (FX8120 actually benches only a tiny bit higher than FX 6300 in synthetics. It's single core performance is worse.)

My i5 4440 beats the 8120 in single threaded performance without any problem and it still has some lag with jak 2 so you're probably not going to be able to run it with your 8120

Have you chosen GS sse4 as graphics plugin and DirectX10/11(hardware) as emulation mode? Have you tried some speedhacks? MTVU might help a lot.
