Best settings for MOH - Rising Sun
#1
Hello guys

I'm Ben from Belgium and I registered because I want to do some retro gaming again. I'm also playing MOH - Frontline on my PS3 right now and MOH 1 and Underground on my Xperia Ray. (And ofcourse some GBA roms and etc).

I've read the whole guide on setting PCSX2 up, but I still couldn't get Rising Sun to play smoothly all te time. In intense scene's with airplane battling etc there are a lot of slowdowns to 30-40 fps. I tried the speed hacks and the presets, the speed improves, but not enough and it causes stuttering sometimes and crashes. The wiki says the game even runs at 170fps (http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php?title=Me...Rising_Sun) and I'm quite sure my setup should be able to handle 50 fps.

So, are there any settings I can apply, or do I just have to wait until PCSX2 improves even more?

Thanks in advance!

PC specs:
- core 2 quad q9650 3.0 ghz 2 mb cache
- 8GB ddr3 1333 mhz ram
- Ati hd 4870 X2 2GB ddr5

Thanks man, using the latest SVN build and the MTVU hack really did it for the speed, it's playing butter smooth right now Laugh (Apart from the occasional crash)

EDIT: I found that I still have slowdowns looking directly at smoke like this:

Sorry.. this time I know nothing.. something similar happens to me (in other game ofc) but thats because of computer hardware... but maybe thats also the reason why the same thing happens to you! could you post your configuration settings? as I maintioned above.."I'm not a computer expert"..but I will try to help...

That means it's your graphics card crapping out this time, try checking 'native' in GSdx and see how it performs there then

Hmm, I've set it to 3x native and it's doing fine in normal missions. I'll try to tune it down if i encounter problems again, thanks Wink
