Black Screen after opening in GoW2

Not really, God of War 2 needs higher clocked CPUs to play at full speed without all these hacks, so since you're on a laptop not much you can do. The bugs you describe are a direct consequence of the speed hacks you use, so as long as you have them enabled they will be there, no fix for that.

Thanks for the reply Bositman.
I looked around on the forums and there's a thread where someone claims to play the game at 50+FPS at all times on a 0.9.6 1329 version of PCSX2.
Here's the link to the thread: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-God-of-Wa...l-the-time

I downloaded that old version, installed it and followed his instructions, but unfortunately, i just cannot find the "gsdx1375" he's talking about even though i tried multiple searches on Google. Would you know a direct link to get that plugin? It seems it is the only fix there is against the green screen a lot of people (including myself) are experiencing.

0.9.7 is in all regards faster than that old version. Are you getting the green screen issue? Tried using System->Boot CDVD (full)? What is your game's CRC? (you can find it in the console after you run it)

I get the green screen thing when i try to run the game with the 0.9.6 1329 version. It's a hardware issue it seems as the green screen disappears when i enable software instead of hardware.
I've been looking for that "gsdx1375" the author of the other thread was referring to. However, i just can't find it.

When i try to run the game with the latest version of PCSX2, the 0.9.7 r3878, if i enable both speed hacks (EE Cycle and VU Cyclerate), the game runs at a near constant 50+FPS, but there's the clipping issue. As you said though, there's nothing i can do about it without cutting my frame rate in half.

All the people who configured their 0.9.6 1329 version as specified with the "gsdx1375" seemed to have excellent results, even if it is an older version of PCSX2.
So, would you know a link for that "gsdx1375"?

EDIT: Shadow Lady in that other thread pointed that the file i'm looking for can be downloaded from here: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-GSdx
However, i just see a bunch of GSdx and the numbers are not corresponding. There seem to be no "gsdx1375".

It's an SVN revision and we do not allow unofficial links in here so no. You can build it yourself from the SVN repository but that would require you to install Visual Studio and go through all steps of the compile guide wiki ( http://code.google.com/p/pcsx2/source/list , go to older until you get to that number)
Also you will probably encounter crashes since 0.9.6 does not support dual layer games properly and the green screen bug.

I see, it seems plenty complicated.
I'm gonna try to get over the clipping issue and enjoy the game with the 0.9.7 version.
Thanks for your answers, that was a great help.
