Black screen Problem
#1
Hi guys,

First of all I'm sorry if a question of this kind has already been asked, but I really couldn't find the answer to my specific problem anywhere.

Essentialy I have a problem with the video plugins, specifically with the OpenGL and Direct3D11 renderers (both hardware and software).
What happens is that whenever I start a game, or even just start emulation with no disk inserted, the emulation starts succesfully and I hear the sound, but the screen remains black.
I managed to solve the problem by using the Direct3D9 Renderer, as when I use it everything works normally.

What described above happens with every video plugin I tried, as the video works only with the Direct3D9 Renderer, but I don't understand why and I would  really prefer to use OpenGL as a renderer.

I'm using this build: pcsx2-v1.5.0-dev-3278-g0e84e2c43.
But the same problem presented itself even with an older build such as pcsx2-v1.4.0.

My pc specs:
Acer Aspire VX 15
Intel Core i5-7300 HQ
8 GB RAM
Video: Intel HD Graphics 630
          NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

By reading on the forum, I thought this could had been related with the version of Direct X I had installed, but I verified and I have the latest, Direct X 12.
All my other graphic drivers are up to date as well.
Maybe it's a problem of very easy solution, but I really can't figure it out, so any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

This is my emulog (starting with empty disk):

It may sounds like a stupid suggestion but I think I did encounter that kind of problem and nothing worked until I restart windows
Just black screen and it was not just on pcsx2 but other emulators too

The log don't show anything wrong\useful

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried to restart but it doesn't help.

What bugs me further is that I used to play with pcsx2 on this same pc, without changing any config options (so if I remember correctly at the time I was using the OpenGL renderer, without any probelms), so I really can't figure out why it's not working now.

Edit: And I'm pretty sure that it's not a version problem, because initially I tried to play with the version I had already installed (which was the one that I used at the time), and that didn't work as well. Then I tried other versions, but same problem in each.
So I'm pretty sure it's something with my pc and maybe with the video settings/drivers, but everything is up to date and looks normal, so I really don't know.

Are you sure it's using your 1050 and not the internal gpu?

When I got my laptop a few years ago I also got a black screen and it was because PCSX2 was using my internal gpu instead of the dedicated one.
-PC Specs-
AMD Ryzen 3600

MSI Armor Radeon RX580 8gb
Windows 10 Pro x64

Yes I'm using the 1050. I also tried the internal gpu, and all the other options in the Adapter section, but same result with each of them.

I think there was some kind of problem like this recently
Go to your bios folder and delete the .nvm and .mec files(one of them was causing some kind of problem for some user but I don't remember what exactly was the problem(I think it was the same thing))

If I didnt' get it wrong, the fact that I have DirectX 12 installed means that it already includes the previous updates right?
I also used the dxdiag command to check out my version, and it reports Direct X12, with Feature Levels: 12_1,12_0,11_1,11_0,10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1.
Anyways I also looked up for the June 2010 direct x 9 redistributable now, downloaded and installed the package, and it still didn't work.

I tried to delete those files and run it, but again same problem, I get video output only with the 3D9 Renderer
