have you tried things like changing the vu's to supervu and using interpreters to see if the issue persists?

if there's a memory leak, it could be handy to find out where it is.

any console messages also?

Do you want me to check it again in hardware or software mode? Or both? lol

I think youve proved gsdx hasnt got a hand in this issue, at least between software and hardware Tongue

the choice is yours!

I can confirmed that Super VUs Recompiler [legacy] crashed and the console log didn't provide anything useful, it just crashed and that it. When you said try interpreters, do you mean the one on the VUs or the EE/IOP? Using interpreters in the VUs is pretty much unplayable, i get like 4-5 fps...it would take forever to reach 1.4 - 1.6GB of memory usage. Normally I get high 30's - 5x fps on normal speed without speedhacks or gamefixes, and it takes 3-5 mins at this speed to reach the crashing point or 1.4 - 1.6GB of ram usage.

This level is an overkill for pcsx2 emulation IMHO and if anyone have 1 or 2gb of ram, I think the crash will be reached sooner. I have 4gb of ram ^^

I'm running Windows 7 x64 w/ 4gb of ram. Still want me to try this program?

Edit: Whoa! I actually beat this level for the first time without using savestate! This was tested with Super VUs and now I will try with micro VUs. The program you gave/linked me sure does works even though I didn't think it would have work in the first place due to the fact that I have 4 GB of ram. But at the cost of 2.1+ GB of ram resources/usage. I don't think anyone can play ZOE 2 from start to finish without crashing lol. It takes 2.1 - 2.4 GB of ram usage for just one scene or one level...

So, is this a pcsx2 issue or Windows limitation issue?

Any how, I want to show you guys how epic the battles are in this particular scene. You see, for every single red dot on the map it represents one raptor and there are a lot of them. Over 1000 raptors, but I have killed over 1200 raptors this is done by not help or saving those LEVs. There are multiple enemy waves, probably 2 or 3 I believe, because it's kind of hard and confusing to keep track of them.

1st enemies wave: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9227/zoe21stwave.png
Last enemies wave: http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2320/zoe22ndwave.png

Hmm well it is more likely to be a gsdx issue, i imagine the problem is the texture cache is growing to silly sizes, if not then it is in the emulator. The program i got you to run just lets windows allocate more than 1.5Gb of memory to that program, thus avoiding the problem Tongue
