Ah cool, I'm aware that redump exists and have used it for GameCube stuff in the past, but, I don't know the state of it for PS2. If it's fairly complete, wouldn't it be a better way to verify dumps by saying "hey, compare the md5 to documented good dumps."

But, in order for this to work relatively well, the discs have to be consistent (same version of the same disc ID not having weird changes ever) and users can't be completely mucking up their dumps with scrubbing them and whatnot.

try loading from memcard instead of savestates
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

Yes,most likely something is wrong with your savestate(save states literally saves the current state of the emulation and if there is some bug triggered,it also be saved and loaded when you load the save state)
Save the game to the memory card=>restart pcsx2=>load the memory card save
