I just entered the entrance of game without going further, so I've no idea whatcha mean about a dialogue box at the bottom.

I can test it for you if given detailed explanation or screenshot.

I've just tested it with some combinations of clamping and none of them worked. IIRC, one of the developers mentioned a problem in NTSC-J, I wonder if this is the problem. You need to finish the first battle in order to get to this point.

Notice the bottom missing dialogue.

For the same scene here, it's English subtitles while English Voice is emitted, but the subtitles displayed incompletely if too many words in a sentence.

For instance, Voice said "Don't people normally introduce themselves first", but subtitle was missing the last word of first.

The voice runs fine, but the colour of the text and names are supposed to be bright white, not like the one you see appear to be faded.
edit: same result with different VU and EE round modes
edit2: tested with svn r3222, gsdx r 3068, spu2-x r3219, the problem is still present
edit3: the problem is still preset in r3320.

I see, the English subtitles should also wrap around and be brighter. And my previous screenshot in 0.9.7 also missed a yellow arrow at bottom right while subtitles are displaying.

Hello everyone.
I have the same problem in PCSX2 1.4.0 with English texts being semi-transparent in the dialogues before and after battle. I have tried arapapa's patch for the NTSC-J version found here but the problem remained. I thought I only needed to change the patch's file name for it to work with NTSC-U and only did that.
So, if anyone finds a solution to fix this, please kindly help me. Thanks in advance.

Does it work with GSdx sw renderer ? Or is it a core issue ?
