[Bug Report] Harry Potter 3
#1
Whenever I try to run Harry potter 3 on my PC, I get a "vtlb miss: addr 0x0 mode 0" error. Below is a picture of the following case, with I running the file like a CD, and the other is with simply executing the file. Please help. ANY HALP WILL BE WELCOMELaugh

This is not a bug report. You also give us 0 info about your system or what pcsx2/plugins/settings you use so no one can help you this way.

OK, then I'll give you details:

Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.6 Ghz speed
RAM: 512 MB
Video card: GeForce FX 5500 128 MB memory

My settings:

GRAPHICS
Resolution: Windowed
Renderer: Direct3D9(Hardware)
Interlacing: None
Inspect Ratio: 4:3
D3D Internal resolution: Native
SW rend. threads: 1
Texture filtering: On
Logarithmic Z: On
Allow 8-bit textures: On
Everything else is off.

I got a Europe v02.00 BIOS.

The emu stopped when it was writing:
MADR = 1fd8f80, STADR = 1feaf80

Please if you can add anything, help. I hope this is enough information
Oh and
SSE3 and SSE4.1 weren't detected.

sorry, but your system is not powerful enough for pcsx2, it barely matches the minimum requirements. both your cpu and gpu are very weak for pcsx2, and even the low amount of ram will probably hamper your speed. you might try some 2d games, but the harry potter game you tried will most likely not run in a playable manner, even if it is already playable with pcsx2, which i don't know.

So basically the PROBLEM is with my hardware, that brought in the error message?

actually I think that the cpu doesn't support pcsx2 at all. It is an AMD Sempron, and AFAIK it doesn't have support for SSE2, which is a must for the emu
My Laptop:
CPU: intel T4200 @ 2.0 ghz
GPU: Intel GMA X4500M
Ram: 3 Gb DDR2

no, i just told you, that your MAIN problem with pcsx2 will be your hardware, regardless of the specific game you'll run. the errors you get might also be related to your hardware, but they could e.g. originate from a misconfiguration of pcsx2 or an incompatibility between pcsx2 and this specific game, too (the exact meaning of those "gs stall control" messages is unknown to me, but it doesn't sound good). so, you might try some less demanding games like many 2d rpgs, as these will give you the best chance on your system to achieve more or less playable fps values, but you will have to enable speed hacks or even frame skipping for that. and try zerogs as your graphics plugin, to see if it gives you no or at least other error messages Wink

could you post the beginning of the console, where pcsx2 detects the sse versions that your cpu supports? or post the content of your emulog.txt.

yep, if it's a socket a (462) model (not that unlikely with his gpu), the later 754/939/AM2 models got sse2.

ok, your cpu will at least be able to run the recompilers of pcsx2, without it you probably wouldn't even get 1 fps in any game. and before you ask, ssse3 and sse4.1 are instruction sets used by gsdx to speed up the graphics emulation, but they are intel only, so your stuck with the sse2 variant of gsdx.
