CDPlugins: Any difference in speed?

I am not sure about it, but how does the CD plugin affect the speed in both loading times and emulation itself? Assuming you are using a normal ISO (made with IMGBurn for example), nothing mounted or in the disc drive. Is one of the plugins included in the latest Beta faster than the other?
And another little question: How do you "reset" the ISOs in the ISO selector in the latest Beta? Deleted or moved images cannot be removed from the list.
