CPU Question
#31
Because what you're basically saying is that your computer is running at 8800Mhz, when it's not.

It's 4 cores rated at 2.2Ghz each. There is a difference. The increase in speed with multi core isn't linear like you and a lot of the general public are led to believe.

Basically, it's you doing 4 tasks at the same time, each of those tasks running at 2.2Ghz.

But I'm getting way off topic so I'll end it with that Wink Google if you want more info on it, tons of articles and discussions out there on this topic.

... with each and every one of them as pointless as this same discussion, no doubt.

just funny i doenst think its wrong because.
I know this is not 4 x 2200 = 8800 counts. the core of each individual has 2.2. Because it's 4, I've written 4x 2200. when you see a mathematical statement is your error not mine. I wanted to say that there are four cores with 2.2 and not the 4 x 2200 = 8800 is expected to be! hope u understand my german shool english style Laugh

well that's the way it's written Smile (the X4 means just that, 4 cores, that's why AMD named it that Laugh), and it's also just so it doesn't confuse some noob Tongue

Ok this has gone into the realm of painful.

I make the official decree here and now that the Pcsx2 forums do not care if you use '4x2200' or 'X4/2200' or even 'X4 @ 2200' notation to describe your CPU. Either formation is acceptable and all are entirely comprehensible. I don't care if people use the word color or the word colour, and I don't care if they put the X before or after the 4.

Another word on it and I close the thread. Ninja

As proven from Intel's pathetic Pentium 4 range, you'll realise clock speed means nothing if it can't perfom..
