Maybe but SSE4.1 is not the same as SSE4a.
Both are two completely different instruction sets, besides PCSX2 clearly supports SSSE3,SSE4.1and 4.2.
All of these have been implemented in Intel as rama said.
Intel E5700 @3.0Ghz,
Xfx Radeon 5670 1Gb,
4Gb DDR3 Ram,
Microsoft Windows7 Ultimate x86

is it that hard then to rewrite also for AMD Hardware?? Cause in the other thread they said something about that the GSDX plugin was written on Intel/Nvidia hardware, but wouldn't it be faster for ATI if the plugin creator writes it for SSE 4a?? (I mean the emulator) Smile

I read somewhere it's not worth it because SSE 4a are only a few instruction sets from SSE 4 and they wouldn't really give any more performance.

wouldn't it make a huge difference between SSE 2 and SSE4a?

My point is they're not the rite instruction sets for PCSX2 to make any real use of.

How do you know?

No.

SSE4a is extremely lacking in actually instructions, even compared to the standard SSE4 of Intel's. That, and SSE3, lacks any useful instructions for PCSX2.

(This really has been discussed before)
