I tested r4250 built with cmake, the Langs folder is a sub folder under $HOME/PCSX2/
Nonetheless, zh_TW can be detected if put its mo files into $HOME/PCSX2/Langs/zh_TW/
Code:
$ strace ./pcsx2 --forcewiz|&tee | grep -i -o "\".*pcsx2_Main.mo\"" | grep zh_TW | grep Langs | sort -u
"/home/pcsx2fan/PCSX2/Langs/zh_TW/LC_MESSAGES/pcsx2_Main.mo"
"/home/pcsx2fan/PCSX2/Langs/zh_TW/pcsx2_Main.mo"
"/home/pcsx2fan/PCSX2/Langs/zh_TW.UTF-8/LC_MESSAGES/pcsx2_Main.mo"
"/home/pcsx2fan/PCSX2/Langs/zh_TW.UTF-8/pcsx2_Main.mo"

However, It should be given pcsx2's main directory as relative path for the Langs folder, e.g.
Code:
pcsx2's main directory anywhere/Langs/zh_TW/pcsx2_Main.mo

Ok. I move the dir relative to application root (ie CWD or EXE_DIR in portable mode (not sure this mode on linux anyway)) instead of the user data.

Wow I tested your patch with r4260 under Windows XP, it fixes the extra blank space I reported at comment #23 in Issue 915.

In my zh_TW translation, the same problem is also fixed in Linux if patched wxGuiTools.cpp, tested Ubuntu 10.10 x86 and pcsx2 r4264 compiled by cmake.

this patch fixes several missing strings.
I also updated the .pot files and my translation.

please apply it if everything is okay Tongue

note that for the memory card dialog I just hacked it a bit as pcsx2 changes a lot to gettext stuff (proper gettext usage for such situation is N_ macro however it does not exist in pcsx2). Also I was unable to translate the "Browse" string in various places for some reasons.

EDIT: posted a wrong file before (was a previous patch which crashes), corrected.

EDIT: deleted

It would probably be easier for everyone (at least for me) to split the patch in several files (.po, .pot, .cpp) Wink

As Jake left, two problems left unfinished to be solved for my zh_TW translation.
The problems had been discussed before with Air in this thread but undetermined yet.

Change Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) to Chinese (Traditional) in the list when choosing a language at the first page of First-Time Wizard. I've done it on my own but I've no idea if it's harmful I'm not a programmer.

Reason for problem 1 Wrote:By international regulation or consensus, multi language software should display Chinese (Traditional) to represent Traditional Chinese when choosing a language.

Localized Windows 7 version for Hong Kong(zh-hk) and should also Macao(if exists should be zh-mo), can't automatically detect and display my zh_TW translation and display default English instead at the first page of First-Time Wizard.
Reason for problem 2 Wrote:zh_TW and zh_HK are Traditional Chinese territory, although the usage of Traditional Chinese is slightly different from each other. zh_TW is the language code for Traditional Chinese, therefore zh_HK in wx should be interpreted as zh_TW and load language files from Langs\zh_TW\

I know sometimes Traditional Chinese break apart into zh_TW and zh_HK(e.g. Windows 7 localization, Linux).
But mostly Traditional Chinese appeared as a whole(e.g. download all available languages localized Firefox)
As to pcsx2, release 0.9.6 contains Traditional Chinese as a whole without split into zh_TW and zh_HK, 0.9.7 should follow it.
