Can I activate a Patch before starting emulation ?

Can I activate a Patch before starting emulation ?
cause i wanna make the "mpeg skip" activated from the beginning in god of war..cause i'm unable to quit the emulation to activate it..

Then your patch is wrong or not working...

found it..you were right there is a mistake in the patch..but why when i activate skip mpg in god of war 1 before even the mpeg begin..it keep a black screen and stay like this..
its like the emulation is stoped (but it is not..when i press start button the menu "power up" appears)

actually u can ONLY use "Skip MPEG" after the movie begins and you see it on the screen and not before that.
or else you will get a black screen!
happened with me!
