Well the framerate seems to have gone up quite a lot however now the game plays quite choppy and lags out alot at parts i think im just gonna attempt to overclock it a little and if that fails just wait until i get my new cpu
Thanks anyway Smile

that's an EXTREME amount of threads try 3

are you on XP or vista/7? if vista/7 use renderer=3

also try running in software mode (F9)

didnt really help and also software mode dropped it to something like 10fps it really killed the framerate

Your MSAA=8,just turn it off, msaa is buggy and doesn't really enhance graphic that much compares to scaling

good god. 1GB isn't even enough to do 4x MSAA at that custom res let alone 8x

upscaling > msaa

Yeah I can reinforce the statements about MSAA. My computer can use the PCSX2 MSAA, but it's buggy as hell. Even if your computer can handle MSAA fine, the bugs will kill the performance. Many games are just not compatible with it it seems. Attempting to use it on Dark Cloud 2 and Final Fantasy XII was terrible at ANY setting, and I have quite a high end card. I have been able to use the max setting of 16x before without problems, but that's only on select games.

If you're going to use it, use it at like 2x. That's about as helpful as it gets anyway. Anything more is almost totally unnoticeable unless you're concentrating really hard on the edges.

Most PS2 games at high resolution doesn't need it anyway - they look fantastic without antialiasing. I only think it's needed for new PC games - like in Portal 2 I use 32x CSAA because I can actually tell some difference between other settings.

TL;DR : Anything more than 2x is just a waste of resources, in my honest opinion.

Speaking of antialiasing, does FXAA affect PCSX2? Read the description in NVIDIA, it sounds like it would - Here's a screenshot.

I already use it anyway though, no problems. Just curious.
