Can someone help me with setting up FFXII on PCsx2 please

Okay I have been tackling this all day and its still not working.

The problem is the FPS. I get around 55 all the way up to 100 on the intro scene's, but as soon as I get to take control of my character it drops to about 15 FPS... Can someone explain why?

Here is some off my PC specs.

System

OS- Windows 7 home Premium 64-bit
Brand - Packard bell
model - Imedia S3720
Processor - Intel® Celeron® CPU E3200 @ 2.40GHz (2CPUs) - 2.4ghz
Ram - 2048MB
Directx version - DirectX 11

Display

Name - NVIDIA
manufacturer - NVIDIA
Chip type - GeForce 7100 / NVIDIA nForce 630i
DAC Type - Intergrated RAMDAC
Approx. Total Memory - 889mb
Current Display Mode - 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

I got this info by typing 'dxdiag' in the run bar.

I've also tried the speed hacks on the emulator but that hasn't helped.

I've tried all off the plugins also but no change there.

This is the first time i have used a PS2 emultor, but i have used a PS1 before (psx, espxe) and worked fine.

I''ve also seen people saying that it may be to low a spec to run this emulator...

Games that i have ran on this pc before in the past.

World of warcraft all expansions.
Sims 2 all expansions.
Sims 3 few expansions.
Spore.
Guild wars. 1st I think.
Stronghold.
The Settlers.
i have only ever experienced lag with one of these games and that is WOW and that was only in major cities.

And guidance would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Your CPU is simply way too weak. As is your GPU. And you can't really compare emulation and PC gaming.

In GSDX make sure you're using GSDX SSSE3 as the plugin (minor speed up) set GSDX to dx11 hardware mode (i believe your card supports DX10, in the event it doesn't, stay with DX9)

set resolution to native.

Then go under speed hacks enable all recommended speed hacks (except MTVU as you only have two cores) see if that doesn't help you. i'm 90% certain your issue is your GPU. but your CPU isn't the best either.. Someone got it running on a C2D @ 3.2ghz without speedhacks so i think we can get somewhere with the above settings
Intel Core i7-8700k @5ghz
G.Skill 16GB DDR4 @3600mhz
GeForce GTX 1080 8GB
Windows 10 x64

unfortunately, apart from using your PS2, you will definitely need a better machine to play this game correctly (especially GPU)
sorry for you Sad

Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
