Run PCSX2 as administrator or give your user account administrator rights.
You can also search this forum for other suggestions. (Try "administrator")

The problem seems to be the user "Extreme" itself, it's a real user (the one you log in) or are you trying to create that folder under the C:\Users

As the first is most probable, the problem may be the UAC set high, another possibility is the user's Extreme folder is already messed by former access rights issues that may have left Administrator's ownership that prevent a non administrative user account to work as expected.

It's just sad the "security" features on Windows being so dumb that "forces" such things like running common applications with administrative privileges and forcing to lower UAC to boot... which defeats totally it's purpose.

IF the account is already "administrative" a game should never be needed to run as "The Administrator", any game, not even to install it (where the installer may need to put things on System folders).

Try reducing the UAC control, you should even consider removing it completely, the way it works reduce the overall security more than help it.

K.Thanks I understand now.But if no UAC then my PC will be at more risks right? Then I suppose this will have to do for now... Sad
@rama:
My current account is already an administrator account so I guess I will have to follow nosisab Ken Keleh's advice but thank you both very much for helping me. Smile

Just disable UAC and be done with the nagging. It's not like the technology could protect you anyway.
Users quickly "learn" that to make stuff work on the computer, they have to click the annoying prompt away.
Totally useless attempt from MS to secure systems.

The Only reason to have the UAC at the first step (the lower before total removing) being, without UAC, some desktop gadgets crash for some reason I can't and don't want to imagine Smile and they do it "always" at the worst moment possible.

other than this it should be totally removed indeed, it is more an annoyance and hindrance than actual security enhancement, to the point of nagging the user over if he wish to type that letter on a text file... OK, I'm exaggerating here but less than it seems.

Not being "satisfied" into nagging all the time, it will silently deny access without any warning every time that can cause harm to the user (and I mean the action of denying, not what is being denied) leading to most difficult to understand problems and issues.

One the most common and recurring issue caused by UAC is that that arises from installing on "protected folders", like the "default" C:\Program Files and ... behold in AWE... the Users folder and it's subfolders which includes the Documents folder.

It's something totally unintuitive the notion than applications should never run from the User's Documents folder and the reason is hard to understand in deep but easy on a layman level and resumes in this:

Although the user has total control on that folder... the application running from it IS NOT the user even when it inherits some the user's privileges... so the "security mechanism" will see many operations from that application as a tentative of invasion... the rest I left to imagination. This issue is aggravated if the offending operation comes from a third party like a plugin or mod or maybe a simple dll.

PS: Running from inside the Documents folder is yet worsen than from C:\Program Files... because it can hit XP users too and not only Vista or Seven users, although not so frequently or hard as in these last.

>I there.
Im having the same exact issue, and i DO have UAC disabled (its just soo annoying and useless). What can i do now?
When i hit the "OK" button it just does not save, but ONLY GSDX settings! All other plugins can save fine.

Any ideas?

Thank your for your attention.
Not much to say here Ninja

Try uninstalling PCSX2 and then install to a new location like "C:\PCSX2" instead and make sure when installing that all folders will use that and not the ProgramFiles/Document ones.
