Can't boot anything

i downloaded and configured PCSX2 1.2.1 today. Installed BIOS and all required plugins. I tried to play ICO and shadow of the colossus. I have ISO images of both games. But whenever i try to boot them, i get the "file could not be created" message.
I have no idea what's wrong here.

Move pcsx2 out of program files to a dir you created like c:\pcsx2
And make sure you run as admin.

I tried. Same thing.

Try creating a blank portable.ini file and put it ine your pcsx2 root dir.
Then try again

it doesn't work. I'll try with older versions of PCSX2. I had no problems with them

Edit. Well i tried version 1.0.0. Same problem. I give up. Will stick to Dolphin for emulation.

Well aren't you a quitter.

Since you moved your PCSX2 directory and it still doesn't work, please post the emulog once again at the part where it mentions the BIOS files.
Also, afaik, the BIOS has 3 mandatory files, with the extensions BIN, MEC and NVM. Make sure all three are present.

Well PCSX2 creates the MEC and NVM files (dummy files or w/e) if they aren't there. It did that for me when I put my BIOS in there and worked just fine. But in his case for some reason PCSX2 still doesn't seem to have permission to 'write' the files to the folder.

Seems like some kinda massive permission screwup since the problem exists in 1.0.0 too.

Are you an admin on the computer? Have you checked the security settings of the directory where PCSX2 is installed to make sure you have full rights to it?
