Can't create save states

When I try to create a save state, the game freezes for a second and then I get a pop up titled "PCSX2 Message" and it just shows me a filepath to the save state. However then the emulation stops and I have to resume it and when I go to the file location specified, there is no save state with that name. It says that a save state was created at that time in the System menu to load/save states, but when I try to load it, it says that the save slot is empty. What should I do about this? The game is Persona 3 FES if that matters at all

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.
