Can't get past the start screen of Persona 4. Help?

Hello, I am using PCSX2 ver.1.4.0. and I tried to run Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.  Everything went fine, the opening video played really well and the musics too, also there didn't seem to be any graphical glitches as far as I observe. The problem is, I can't get past the start screen. It says I can press any button to continue. But when I pressed start button (I'm using keyboard input) the start screen didn't let me through. I tried with other buttons but the results were the same. It wasn't like the start screen freezes, though, given that the music was playing right and the sprites moved normally. It was that my inputs were ignored, somehow. I have set up the inputs for my laptop's keyboard, and the inputs worked just fine with other games. I also have tried using a game fix for persona games, restarted the game, and tried getting through the start screen again, but I still can't get through it.

Is there someone who can help me with this problem? I love Persona games and I really want to play Persona 4.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.
