Can't get pcsx2 to work properly

PCSX2 has many issues related to video playback, both speed issues but mostly compatibility ones, making the emulator crash, hang or loop the videos. I suggest you check the compatibility list to see if the games you want to play are listed as playable. Some videos not working certainly don't make games unplayable Wink
P.S. I told you to set DX 10 hardware renderer not 9 Tongue

about the DX10: not possible (not in the list) I'm playing on a good old xp, not Vista ^^

*checked the comp list*

I don't understand a f**k of it:
the list says that ssx3 should work:
SSX 3 SLES 51697 E PS2 Playable 0.9.5

It doesn't work for me, I cant play a course....
the only thing you could tell me is to get a gamepad, which I'm going to do in a few days but that shouldn't be the reason that the game crashes, I think..

That just says it worked on an older PCSX2 version, maybe it stopped working on the new one.

Searched this post because I had the same freezing problem in SSX 3 using PCSX2 0.9.6 and Gsdx 0.1.15 r1168. Tried 0.9.5 and had massive clipping issues. decided to go the other way using 0.9.7 r1888 beta and SSX 3 runs super smooth! even better than the limited use i got until it started freezing in 0.9.6.

i'm running it at an internal res of 1920x1080 and get a consistent 45-60 fps through most of the game i've played so far (about an hour's worth)! Looks beautiful.

Specs: Windows 7, Q9550 (2.84 ghz core 2 quad), 8GB ram, ATI Radeon 4850 1GB. Set Gsdx to DirectX 11 hardware and it actually worked fine. Setting it to Directx 10 hardware didn't run as smoothly.

DirectX 11 is the exact same thing as DirectX 10 coding wise at this point, so it was obviously a placebo effect. Also DX11 is not recommended because apart from being the exact same as the DX10 implementation of GSdx, it has some additional crashes/bugs.
