Could you or someone else please upload that version for me? I'm currently playing P3 FES on 1972 and it's just not working out very well. I remember it being much faster than this in earlier revisions, but all I have is 1972.

Also, when I get an older version of PCSX2, should I still be using the latest possible version of all of my plugins (GSDX, SPU2-X, etc)? Also, will my memory cards from 1972 work on 1683?

Nevermind, figured it out myself. I got 1684. It doesn't work any faster, I still get the same slowdowns I get with 1972. I used the newest version of GSDX I have, worked fine. Memory cards worked fine. Game is unplayable because savestates crash 1684, and it is required that I use savestates in the section of tartarus I am currently exploring. There are certain enemies that cause the game to freeze when they are attacked in a certain way or order and there is no way around it other than using savestates at the beginning of every battle.

Yeah, I figured out that the problem was just due to using mVU rather than the older one. It hasn't crashed or hung yet and there is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever anymore.

If you have a fast enough CPU, you don't need speedhacks or to use microVU. With my i5-750, I turned off all speed hacks and turned off all microVU settings. All I have on are MTGS, and EE recs. (regular VU.) The only game that slowed down to low 50fps was Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010. And that was with stock settings. I have not tried my OC'ed settings yet. Everything else, (including this game.) runs full 60fps everywhere.

Fast computer has nothing to do with not using microVU... in fact, just the opposite. You SHOULD use microVU if you have a fast computer since it's more accurate and has a higher compatibility at the price of being about 5-10% slower than SuperVU (SuperVU is what's on when you just have the recompilers on but no microVU on)
