Can this laptop run PCSX2? Edit: New Laptop Asus g750jz-ds71

You have a 6990 which is a single slot crossfire card right(i.e. it has two GPU?)

PCSX2 doesn't like SLI/Crossfire and it will cause slowdown. If you can disable it(IDK if you can for dual GPU cards) for PCSX2 you should.

Yeah, PCSX2 hates dual GPU's, which is what the 6990 is

Actually that's not right. Its a 6950. I was being dumb when i wrote that and never changed it.

EDIT. I updated my specs and did a signature with my specs as well.

EDIT: Apparently my sig didn't get saved or I did something wrong...

EDIT: All is fixed now

That's weird then. That card should easily handle 3x and beyond.

It should but on the game I been playing lately its having issues even on 2x... The game I am currently playing is Grandia 3 and in cutscenes and 3x native I get as low as 20fps. During actual gameplay though I get 60fps. Hell I even get slow downs on software mode in that game. I NEVER seen a game that did that. Not even SoTC. I seen as low as 45fps in software mode. Maybe its a problem on my end...

I have Grandia 3 but don't have it ripped so I can't test. I do know it's fairly demanding, but should not be more so than SoTC.

Are you using MTVU? What are your EE and GS% (and VU if applicable) when you get slowdown?

I don't use EE or GS as they screw with the game too much. I have everything else on though.

I meant the % in the GSdx window title bar, not the speedhack settings.

High is what matters, not low.

But if they are THAT low, something else is holding you back.
